ABOUT US

Enfield Film Orchestra & Chorus was formed on 28 April 2011. We wanted somewhere for local musicians to come and enjoy playing together, without the pressure and exacting minimum standard often required by other amateur classical ensembles.

The main thing to say is that we are not high brow, we are inclusive and it's okay to make mistakes at Enfield Film Orchestra - that's the way we learn. New players sometimes find themselves sitting with a novice on one side and a seasoned professional musician on the other. Everyone is friendly and encouraging and that's the way we like it.

If you enjoy playing a varied mix of material, concentrating on film, TV and stage music, and want to learn and develop, whatever your starting point, we would love to be able to help and inspire you. We also offer exciting symphonic collaborations with our sister-projects, English Jazz Orchestra, swing big band and vocals in London and Manchester, and with our traditional British brass band, Brass Band London

Enfield Film Orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings, between 7.45pm and 9.30pm at Oakwood Baptist Church, Merrivale, London N14 4TE. Enfield Film Chorus (for singers) rehearses on Friday evenings at the same venue, between 8pm and 9.30pm - more details on our North London Singers website.
